We grew up in Toronto, Ontario! Yubo and Kai went to the same high school and university (college for the Americans). We grew up doing all the Toronto things - visiting Niagara Falls, riding on the TTC, skiing in Blue Mountain. We time skipped to 2014 since no sane human being would willingly post their photos from high school online :)

After we graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2018, Kai moved to California to work in product design. Yubo stayed in Toronto to work as an auditor in a public accounting firm.

Yubo moved to California in 2019. Kai and Yubo found an apartment in the peninsula and started to settle into making the Bay Area their home.

COVID-19 broke out in March 2020. During the pandemic, we were both lucky enough to work remotely and quarantine from the virus. Our last outing before the world shut down was watching the Raptors beat the Warriors in Game 4 of the 2019 NBA Finals!

When the world reopened, we realized that we had enough room in our hearts for a baby... chinchilla! We were in PetSmart, planning to buy a guinea pig, but then we saw Dusty! We couldn't help ourselves since chinchillas are factually the cutest beings known to man.

We wanted to keep on expanding our family, so in May 2022, we bought a house! Now that we had the room, we went and brought Sandy home. Sandy and Dusty didn't get along at first, but now they're inseparable!

Since the world was locked down for 2 years, we spent 2022 and 2023 catching up on lost time. We travelled the world in these two years! We were lucky enough to travel all around America (including the Grand Canyon and the Rockies), Hawaii, Japan, and Ireland.

Whenever we travel, our babies also get to enjoy their own time off (from the humans). A day in the life of a chinchilla includes 18 hours of sleep time, and 6 hours of cuddling and kisses.

Kai proposed on our 13 year anniversary! Kai proposed in Marin county, along the coastline. We enjoyed a lovely long weekend in Sausalito, enjoying a view of the Bay outside our windows - the place which we've called home these past 5 years.
